I'm surprised this doesn't have more comments! Really lovely, in concept and in physical design. What did you look at for pattern inspiration? Beautiful rich color schemes, too. I like seeing Javert this way -- you know it's fitting with how he sees himself, as a force of good and order and justice and authority in the world; and yet he's lacking in compassion and mercy, the traits shown by Valjean over and over.
